If the proper oil and filters were used and the proper maintenance performed, there is no reason to run "High Mileage" oil.
Personally, I don't know about "High Mileage" vehicles. My work van is just getting broke in at 353,000 and I run an "Energy Conserving" 0W-30 oil at about 35,000 mile oil change intervals for the last 150,000. Previous oil changes were with a higher viscosity 10W-30 oil at 25,000 mile drains that were started when the van had 17,000 miles.
If your vehicle does NOT use oil, there is no reason not to use an Energy Conserving oil which NO "High Mileage" product is. Also, I don't believe any of them carry an API Certification.
