Cool Some advice please

G'day guys,
I am only new to the site and know little about Aprilia's. I have just brought an "08" RS125 full power optioned and looking to change the sprockets to get a little more punch. It doesn't seem i am able to purchase rear spocktes so I will be changing the front only. The new RS125 comes with a 17-40 tooth ratio. Aprilia Australia is recommending I change to a 15 tooth on the front and my dealer is saying they never usually change down 2 teeth, it's to much. This said, they have never riden or have any of the staff ever owned one. Some i am wondering if anyone that owns one has ever done this and can comment. i am not sure how close the gears will come together or wht revs i ill be doing at 110km/hr, will i be in power?
if anyone that actually knows could assist, i would be much appreciative.

Heya mate. I am sorry to hear that you are having troubles. If you ask me, listen to the dealer. I mean think about it. They work with the bikes 24/7. If anyone has tryed to use the wrong sproket, I can tell you that if it has had any effect, bad or good, the dealer will know about it. If you think about it people aren't going to ring Aprilia and tell them everything that has happened. I suggest having a chat with your dealer and seeing if you can come to a writen agreement that if you follow his advice and it causes damage, the damage will be covered free of charge. This way you are covered and you will possibly get a much more responsive ratio'ed bike.

~ If i have helped please let me know ~

Cheers, and good luck.
