Default Help plz!

Hi everyone my names Sean and I live in Belfast, I purchased an Aprilia RS125 motorcycle the new shaped one and I'm having a problem with it, I can't get it to start at all or even turn over please could someone tell me what it could be thats wrong with it.

I thought it would just need a new battery as its been lying for some time now. When I turn the key the LCD display lights up as well as the lights and the clock hand moves back and fourth and so on. But when i hit the starter button the the LCD clock dims out and turns off and the engine doesnt turn over at all but when i release the starter button the LCD clocks comes back on. All I hear when I press the starter button is a click each time i press it, which is the starter relay I guess.

To me it seems that the battery doesn't have enough charge to turn the engine or keep LCD lit as well when I press the starter button but its a brand new battery. Anyone have any ideas or had this problem and know how to fix it?

are you sure the battery is fully charged? it sounds exactly like a dead battery from what you're saying.

if the starter isnt going to turn things over (as if the motor was locked up) it should still hit pretty hard. top your battery off and try again.

p.s. if you're going to try to jump it, make sure the other vehicle is not running.

ok I'll try that but if it doesnt work can you think of anything else that it might be incase this doesnt work? I'm taking it to a garage on monday here but rather get this thing sorted if its something silly.

And thankyou for offering help and advice.
