Default 09 SR 50 R Factory

I just bought a 2009 SR50R Factory. I have removed the restriction washer that was in the variator, & regapped the plug from .024 to .035. which lessoned a hesitation I had at lower rpms. In the tucked position, I have been able to go 52 MPH on level ground, & 58 MPH down a long step hill. I like my scooter very much..., I love it. I have 1210 miles to date. I have had trouble with the digital display, i.e., I have never been able to reset the tripometer to zero. I love the way that it stops, & the way that it handles. When I have the money, I will add a side stand, rear trunk, & a Leo Vince exhaust. I am also considering a 70cc kit. I want enough power to be able to accelerate up hills. I paid $3444.00 for the scooter, with a heavy chain & a heavy lock, (because my last 07 Kymco Super 9 scooter got stolen).

I have a 50 Factory as well--the guys at the dealership and myself after reading the manual cannot get the computer to switch from KMPH to MPH. No matter how long I hold in the "joystick", it never gives the option--anyone have a work-around or the similar problem?!

Default Wait on the Exaust!

hey Burt, I purchased my 2009 sr 50r From a dealer, actually traded my 2003 r6 with 21,700 miles straight up for it, it came with the Leo Vince exaust and a clutch and only reaches 40mph on flat ground and 45 mph downhill! Jeremy from Vespa Madison said I should be getting 52mph with stock scooter and say's these mods are more then likely hurting performance rather than improving it. I found this out when asking about de restricting my machine so now I dont If the exaust and clutch were really considered extra. But get info from others before you make your decision on an exaust cuz it just might not be worth the money. also what de-resrtictions can I do with mine if you know of any( besides changing back to stock)
