hi all

just got hold of a SR50 factory from a police auction cheap!

whe i turn the key i get "enter code" message engine turns over but is not firing, the immobiliser light goes out when key is turned

i have tried entering 00000 etc but it keeps saying incorrect code

any ideas anyone?

The SR-50 has a chipped key. It makes it virtually impossible to steal, unless you load it in the back of a truck, and then the thing is still useless to you. I have my original chipped key, and then when I bought a duplicate, the dealer tried to make me a new one, using a $40 blank. Didn't work. The only way I could use it was to set a security code with the original, setting the security code (I chose 11111) and then when I used the duplicate key, I could start the bike,using the code. You've got a problem only a dealer can solve. For sure. Good Luck
