Default Ride by wire technology

Ya gotta admit that does sound awful techno-sexy since it's all the rage with fighter jets etc. However, call me old fashion, but I think most folks would feel better knowing that when they yank on something, it's tied to something else at the other end!

Thoughts?

Not sure. I will let you know when I get mine in the coming weeks! I have read it is slightly sluggish but the good thing is you can apparently use a computer and data cable to tweak the settings and dial it in for the type of riding you want.

Will check back and report.

I wonder if it's anything like the CVT in my Caliber...heh, you don't feel the lurch shifting gears and often, before I know it, I'm screaming along way over the speed limit.

Well, I have 1350km on my 2009 now. During the break in period (keeping under 6000 rpm) I was quite satisfied with the performance. Being experienced rider (62 yrs old bikes since 17) I am a little disappointed in the throttle response. There should be enough torque available to pretty well loft the front wheel in the air anywhere thru 1 st and 2 nd but short of rolling off and snapping open at 4000 in first the front stays firmly planted on the ground. My last 2 bikes were a 05 VTR 1000 Honda and a Ducati DS1000 Multistrada both provided the great fun factor of wheelies everywhere in 1st, 2nd, and even 3rd if you hit a bit of a rise with power on.

I would like more information on the tunability of the ride by wire system. Although I like most everythin else on the Shiver, if I can not get a little more snap out of it, I will be back in the market for another litre bike.
