Default Help plz!!

Hi everyone my names Sean and I live in Belfast, I purchased an Aprilia RS125 motorcycle the new shaped one and I'm having a problem with it, I can't get it to start at all or even turn over please could someone tell me what it could be thats wrong with it.

I thought it would just need a new battery as its been lying for some time now. When I turn the key the LCD display lights up as well as the lights and the clock hand moves back and fourth and so on. But when i hit the starter button the the LCD clock dims out and turns off and the engine doesnt turn over at all but when i release the starter button the LCD clocks comes back on. All I hear when I press the starter button is a click each time i press it, which is the starter relay I guess.

To me it seems that the battery doesn't have enough charge to turn the engine or keep LCD lit as well when I press the starter button but its a brand new battery. Anyone have any ideas or had this problem and know how to fix it? I apoligise for posting in here
