Talking First oil change

I am just coming up to my first oil change, I was wondering which oil works best in the shiver. Fully synthetic or semi. Locally I can get Rock oil at a good price, has any used this brand.

I have always used semi or dino for break in and then full synthetic afterwords. i have been told that semi or dino oil helps things seat in a little better than full but then full protects better after everything has worn in properly. not sure how true this is but it has worked well for me.

There is no truth to it at all. 600 miles, put in whatever oil you like.

The initial change period is to remove machining and casting debris.

The manuacturer just gives a Spec and will usually tell you to use their branded oil. That oil, goes out for bid usually every 3 years so you never really know who made it.
